US documents for use in Spain

Powers of attorney, apostilles and sworn translations from the US or Canada, coordinated around the Spanish procedure you need.

Power of attorney for Spain — $250

A Spanish power of attorney lets an appointed representative carry out specified acts on your behalf. I draft the authority required for the transaction and provide signing instructions. The fee is $250 for drafting and signing instructions; notary, apostille, translation and delivery costs are separate. Additional coordination is quoted in writing.

Before signing, I check the intended use and the receiving authority’s requirements. Signing before a US notary may require an apostille and translation; a Spanish consular route may also be suitable. A power does not replace acts that legally require your personal attendance.

Document and apostille coordination

Request a quote for a checklist tailored to your US state, document type and Spanish procedure, coordination of certification or apostille requirements, and sworn translation arrangements. Issuing authorities and independent providers charge their own fees.

  1. Identify the correct original or certified copy and the Spanish authority that will receive it.
  2. Confirm whether notarization or any prior certification is needed.
  3. Obtain the apostille from the competent state or federal authority, as applicable.
  4. Arrange the required translation and check whether originals must be delivered.

The sequence depends on the document. An apostille authenticates the signature or official capacity; it does not guarantee that the contents meet every Spanish requirement.

Use it for your wider matter

Buy or sell a Spanish home, complete an inheritance, prepare residence documents or organize family records. Coordination can be included in a combined quote, with its scope clearly identified.

What to include in your enquiry

Tell me the document type, the US state or issuing authority, the Spanish procedure and any deadline. Do not send sensitive documents in the first message; I will arrange secure follow-up.

Spanish-law advice only. US legal questions remain with your US attorney. Applicable taxes and third-party costs are confirmed in the quote.
